Morning from Hawaii! The household slept well. I personally slept a really solid 9-10 hours. I woke at about 3am and expected to lie awake. Nope. Dozed strait back off.
Gravity just cooked up a storm! We're fed and watered. It's that funny space where you are enjoying resting, but also feel the vacuum and momentum in the air of a pending storm coming. A good storm!
Logistics
Helicopter departure is locked in for 4pm tomorrow. We have transport arranged to the boat dock on Molokai by a lovely local gentleman. Thanks Dedric you legend! We'll be at the boat dock at around 5pm. Targeting toes in at around 6pm Sunday, Hawaiian time.
The Weather
I've honestly not seen a calm like this for a long long time here. We are looking really solid. Calm, variable winds. Glass.
Todays' Plan
Feet Up. A light swim. A check in with the captain to ensure we are good to go.
O7 Tradition
A bit of fun information. Items that we will use tomorrow that have been used on every single swim;
Feed Rope(EC, NC, Cook Strait, Catalina, Gibraltar)
Feed Bottles (EC, NC, Cook Strait, Catalina, Gibraltar)
Togs- always black
Cap- Always yellow
Hawaiian Culture
Today I will have a chat to the ocean. I will politely ask permission to pass on through and not do any harm. I just want to visit if that's ok.
I plan to have the same chat tomorrow, asking for a safe passage.
We will also scatter tea leaves(A Hawaiin tradition)on the back of the boat, on the marlin board as a peace offering to the ocean.
The apartment is abuzz with words like, PFD, GoPro, Carabiner, kayak changeover.
Righto. Back soon...

You are in good hands with Charlie’s cooking! 🥰
Moloka’i…be kind. A very loved passenger gracing your beauty tomorrow - watching you from NZ when Cyclone Callum makes landfall. Your spirit is bigger than any strait. You’ve got this x
