Today marks 7 days since surgery.
How did surgery go? The procedure took 5 hours. More than was first anticipated. Why? This is now my third ablation! Yep! Dr Chuang and Dr Lim had work to do to navigate around the scar tissue from previous ablations. They could clearly see where previous work had failed(healed) over time. It was a finicky procedure. Fun fact: Singapore considers itself the global leader in cardiology. 🫀
Recovery…I’ve had to really be patient…embrace the break from training. I’m 52 years old next month, so I need to be realistic about embracing a recovery path that aligns to what my body needs.
I had planned to bounce back to work after 48hrs! Lim's advice, take 10 days. Heeded.
Mental rest. Sleep. Walks. Stretching. Good quality, healthy food.
I’m also using the opportunity to reset.
I’m even more driven to go back to Hawaii now. As a matter of interest;
Hawaii attempt 1- disrupted by COVID in 2021.
Hawaii attempt 2- April this year.
Hawaii attempt 3- was to be Nov 2024. Heart surgery.
Hawaii attempt 4- we’ll head to Oahu on March 20, 2025. 172 days or 24 weeks until we go back. I’ve been working on a program this week. 😌
Meanwhile! I’ll keep reading Deepak Chopra and watching Eat, Pray, love!

Good luck with the recovery Callum. Was it just over a year since you were in SoCal for Catalina? Or maybe 2? I got an e nudge on that - have been following you. What a story. Best wishes. I’ll mention it to our team on Friday.
